Can the global financial crisis affect the need for a State Accounting Reform ?  

The International Association of Treasury Services has organized  its 4th annual Seminar in Paris, on November 26th & 27th, 2009 on the theme : "State Accounting Reform and the New Role of Public Accountants". 

This seminar has gathered together Managers in charge of Treasury and Public Accounting from more than 30 countries, as well as representatives of International Organizations and private consultants. The issues of accounting standards, the role of public accountants, quality and transparency of accounting systems and of financial statements were discussed. 

AIST and CREDAF (the Centre for Meeting and Studies of Tax Authorities Managers) organized a Seminar for Top Managers, which took place in Agadir (Morocco), on February 9th-11th, 2009. This event was jointly organized by the Tax General Directorate and the General Treasury of the Kingdom of Morocco, with the financial and technical support of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. Mr Noureddine BENSOUDA, Tax General Director of the Kingdom of Morocco and Mr Saïd IBRAHIMI, General Treasurer of the Kingdom of Morocco  hosted this Seminar. The theme of this international meeting was : "Financing Local Governments in Africa".
