The International Association of Treasury Services (AIST) organized, with the support of IBM, Oracle, Accenture and  Logica, its second Seminar on October 14th and 15th, 2008 in Washington, IMF Premises. The theme of this event was : " Financial and accounting IT System : stakes and solutions for Treasury Services".

Many countries are, or have recently been, committed in the reform of their public finances, closely linked to the issues of the implementation of a financial IT system and of structural organisation. 

In the exercice of their duties, States have to face data privacy and system transparency requirements.

Treasury services IT system aims to give quality answers to the lower cost and to offer the best service, especially to meet public finances monitoring and management demands.

In an ever changing world, in which technologies constantly develop, need and efficiency drive to technically lasting choices, which fit to specific size and requirements.

To fulfill these objectives, the seminar gathered 28 countries and almost 70 participants. Various countries representatives, International Organisations experts and managers of specialised companies delivered high level speeches.

Mrs Ter Minassian, Director of  Fiscal Affairs Department in IMF, opened the seminar, with Mr Ibrahimi, AIST President. The seminar was closed by Mr Ibrahimi, after the last presentation of Mr Cottarelli, Deputy Director of  Fiscal Affairs Department in IMF.
